Our second annual fundraising gala, hosted on Saturday, October 28, was a total success. We had a great time, and most importantly we had exceeded our fundraising goals.
We thank our Directors. This gala would not be possible without the support of our Board of Directors. The suggestion to hold the event, though we would be racing against time, came from them, and they had also contributed financially to the realization of the event.
We thank all the attendees. The hundred or so seats that we had paid for would have stayed empty and the room lifeless, were not for our many friends, families, and supporters who had purchased their tickets and actually attended the event.
We thank our donors. Some people couldn’t make it to the event, but still elected to make a donation. Among them, we have many repeat donors, and also some new donors. Some donors encouraged their friends and families to also contribute. Others donated online or by mail, even after the gala.
We thank our volunteers. Some helped sell tickets, set up the ballroom, dressed the chairs and the tables. We thank Patrice Desrose and Guélord Duré for setting up the sound system, as well as Mahamma Germain and the Rozo band for performing at the event.
We thank our keynote speaker, Dr. Onesky Aupont, who galvanized the audience to support sacrificially our work in Haiti.
We thank our Master of Ceremony, Rachelle N. Villarson, who had guided the audience through the different stages of the event with ease, charm, and mastery.
We are already planning our 2018 gala. We will circulate a Save the Date very soon.
Thank you, and let’s do it again next year!
